Job description

We are looking for a Machinist C for our Westbury facility. Under close supervision, in this role you will perform intricate manufacturing parts using manual and computerized machining operations to fabricate parts and components for a wide variety of systems.

Your Responsibilities

• Works from blueprints and specific instructions to machine and fabricate standardized parts and assemblies.
• Operates one of the machine tools, such as lathe, milling, grinding and drill press using available jigs and fixtures. Adjusts feeds and speeds for materials being machined to specific tolerances.
• Performs bench operations on machine parts using standard hand-tools such as scrapers, files and stones.
• Use all machine shop measuring and gauging devices to align and/or machine metal, or plastic parts to meet required specifications.
• Operate and maintain machine in optimal operation following maintenance schedule (TPM).
• Keeps tools and work area in a safe, clean and orderly manner (5S routines).
• Use all prescribed personal protection equipment (PPE) where deemed necessary; Follow established environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions associated with assigned duties and work location.
• Performs other duties as required.

Your Profile

• Knowledge equivalent to high school, with six months to one year technical and apprenticeship training, plus 1 to 3 years’ experience performing machining or sheet metal operations.
• Should be able to use and understand shop mathematics.
