Job summary

Parker Hannifin, a Fortune 250 leader in motion and control technologies, seeks a machinist for the Irvine, CA area. The role supports Military Flight Controls Division, operating production machines from blueprints and route sheets while contributing to lean initiatives and cost reduction.

Responsibilities include setup, small adjustments, precision drilling and deburring, part inspection, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Proficient reading and following blueprints, specs and verbal instructions.
Able to apply lean initiatives to improve production.
Demonstrates good verbal, written and interpersonal communication; works well in a team.
Uses job-specific software applications and employee self-service systems (PMR, TORS, e-mail).
Engages in self-improvement activities and goal setting.

Responsibilities

Makes simple set ups and performs repetitive machine operations per pre-planned routes.
Taps, countersinks, chamfers and deburrs to close tolerances.
Aligns and fastens parts using fixtures and established methods.
Adjusts feeds, speeds, and depths of cut to produce quality parts.
Inspects parts with measuring instruments and visual checks for defects.
Maintains equipment cleanliness and accuracy; supports SPC requirements.
Participates in lean initiatives and suggests improvements.
Follows safety rules and maintains an orderly work area.
