BT&E has an exciting opportunity for a Machinist Assembler Precision in the Machinist department located in Seattle, WA and Tukwila, WA. Machinists in this position participate in the design, fabrication, and assembly of various projects, using precision machines like lathes, grinders, EDM, CNC, and milling machines to support aircraft engineering and production groups.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing bench work (drilling, honing, tapping, reaming) on parts.
  • Assembling parts with rivets and bolts using appropriate tools.
  • Planning and sequencing machining operations.
  • Interpreting drawings, blueprints, and instructions to work on detailed parts.
  • Calculating dimensions using shop math, geometry, or trig.
  • Choosing raw materials per specifications.
  • Setting up, operating, and adjusting machine tools.
  • Programming multi-axis machines as needed.
  • Checking and maintaining equipment and tools.
  • Fabricating fixtures and shop aids.
  • Monitoring machines during operation for safety and quality.
  • Verifying finished work with precision instruments.
  • Assembling and testing machine parts and assemblies.
  • Handling hazardous materials safely.
  • Maintaining personal certifications and computer skills.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed locations and must meet export control requirements (U.S. Person status).

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience with CAD/CAM applications (e.g., Mastercam, CATIA V5, Unigraphics).
  • 1+ years experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines.
  • Experience reading G and M codes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman machinist training or certification.
  • Experience with Enovia design tool.
  • Completed Machinist Apprenticeship or Machining Certificate.
