Job summary

Mill-Max Mfg. Corp. is seeking applicants for its apprenticeship program at Oyster Bay, NY. The role trains on repairs for production machinery, measurement with calipers and micrometers, and operation of saws, drills, lathes, and mills.

Training can last up to 18 months and offers a path to Machinist/Mechanic roles. Applicants should have a high school diploma and mechanical aptitude. First shift, full-time, hourly pay of $25.00–$30.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits and long-term career

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical ability.
• Must have good visual attentiveness.
• Knowledge of, and experience using, equipment such as drill press, grinders, lathes, and/or milling machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trains on performing repairs for various production departments’ machinery.
• Trains on measuring with calipers and micrometers.
• Trains on operating saws, drill presses, lathes, and milling machines.
• Performs increased machining tasks and more complex repairs over time.
• Transitions to a role such as Machinist/Mechanic or Machine Set-Up/Operator after training (up to 18 months).
