The machinist apprentice sets up CNC and manual machines, inspects and/or grinds parts to design specifications, and fabricates, modifies or repairs mechanical instruments and machine tools. The role involves operating machine tools to produce precision parts from metal, fabricating and modifying parts to maintain industrial machines, and applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The apprentice will complete an 8,000‑hour training program to attain Journeyman Machinist status.
First shift work schedule. Hydromat’s workplace is climate‑controlled year‑round.
