Job summary

Hydromat, a leader in precision transfer machine technology, seeks a Machinist Apprentice in Missouri. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce precision metal parts, inspect components, and progress through an 8,000‑hour Journeyman training program.

First shift; climate controlled environment and extensive benefits. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, plus NIMS Level I credentials or equivalent machining knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts from metal.
• Inspect and/or grind parts to design specifications in the tool room.
• Complete an 8,000 hour training program focused on achieving a Journeyman Machinist status.
• This position requires a first shift work schedule.

A machinist apprentice sets up CNC and manual machine(s), inspects and/or grinds parts to design specifications in the tool room as required when inspection duties are completed. The individual sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments out of metal, including precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. This individual may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Will complete 8,000 hour training program focused on achieving a Journeyman Machinist status.

Additional experience

• NIMS level II is a plus
• Technical Associates Degree highly preferred
