Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all engineering instruction, standard operation procedures, and all departmental procedures.
  2. Perform machine set ups on manual lathes, CNC lathes, CNC mills, and scale for all programs and part types including production and/or engineering parts.
  3. Perform typical machine shop operations to support the assembly floor.
  4. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
  6. Visual inspection of machine for damage or wear.
  7. Read and interpret blueprints and drawings for all processes and programs.
  8. Thorough knowledge of the following elements are expected:
    1. Job orders
    2. All gauging required including CMM
    3. Verifying gage calibration
    4. Machine fixturing for all set ups
    5. All tooling, its name and function
    6. Familiarity with CNC programming/languages and knowledge of how to create and edit programs
    7. Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
    8. Machine Safety
    9. Machine lubrication (follow operation manual specifications)

Other Job Responsibilities:

  1. 5+ years experience working with CNC machining.
  2. Follow written and verbal instructions.
  3. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  4. Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
  5. Must have math skills and be able to use hand-held measuring tools.
  6. Attendance and Punctuality: Be at the work station ready to start work at the beginning of the work period and remain on the job until the close of the work period. Be punctual for all appointments. In areas where required, each employee is also expected to remain on the job until a replacement is present.
  7. Client/Customer Focus: Be respectful, courteous, and friendly to customers and GP&C employees.
  8. Effective Teamwork: Be a team player and participate as an integral part of the GP&C team.
  9. Ethics/Values/Integrity/Trust: Accept accountability for personal actions. Positively represent GP&C. It is expected that employees will conduct themselves with integrity and trust. Observe the laws, policies, and procedures that govern the activities of the workplace.
  10. Assist other departments as necessary with approval from your management team.
  11. All other duties as assigned.
