Job summary

Midway Products Group in Findlay, OH is seeking a skilled machinist for first shift to read blueprints, set up and operate a range of machine shop tools, and produce parts to tight tolerances. You will use precision measuring equipment to inspect work and troubleshoot equipment during production.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, performing tool changes, and collaborating with maintenance and toolroom staff to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints to plan set up and operation of all types of machine shop tools.
• Plans, sets up and operates typical machine shop machine tools, producing parts to tolerances and company specifications.
• Operates tool room machinery in a safe manner during build process.
• Performs set up and testing of toolroom equipment under power, testing for mechanical difficulties, tracing to their sources and correcting problem.
• Makes repair parts if not commercially available nor available from company central inventory stores.
• Uses full range of precision measuring and gaging tools to perform inspection before start of job.

Responsibilities

• Interprets drawings and blueprints to determine tool paths and setup.
• Sets up and operates machine shop tools to produce components within tolerances.
• Inspects finished parts with precision measuring instruments and reports any deviations.
• Assists in maintaining toolroom equipment and performs basic repairs as needed.
• Coordinates with maintenance and other trades to ensure smooth production flow.

• Operates tool room machinery in a safe manner during build process.
• Performs set up and testing of toolroom equipment under power, testing for mechanical difficulties, tracing to their sources and correcting problem.
• Makes repair parts if not commercially available nor available from company central inventory stores.
• Uses full range of precision measuring and gaging tools to perform inspection before start of job. Performs repair, rebuilding or overhaul work of manufacturing or service equipment from blueprints, company manufacturing manuals, and written or verbal instructions.
• Frequently works with other tradespersons such as tool and die, maintenance, electricians, etc.
• Treats all other team members with respect and dignity.
• Performs other essential functions as assigned.
