Job summary

Parker Hannifin's Dayton facility is seeking a Machinist on the 2nd shift to machine aerospace components to exacting quality standards.

You'll perform set-ups, tool changes, offsets, participate in LEAN initiatives, and work with Programming, Quality and technical support to develop new processes while maintaining safety and documentation. A GED or high school diploma is required, with CNC machining experience preferred, and overtime may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Preferred 5 years Machining experience.
• Formal training and/or education in Machining.

Responsibilities

• Machine aerospace components to required quality standards and production levels.
• Perform machine set-ups, tool changes and machine offsets.
• Collaborate with Programming, Quality and technical support to develop new processes and products.
• Suggest and participate in process improvements, setup reduction and scrap reduction initiatives.
• Perform all required preventative maintenance activities.
• Complete quality related inspection requirements.
• Document to ensure quality conformance and proper movement of product.
• Develop and maintain work instructions and process sheets.
• Actively participate in LEAN projects and activities
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
• Other assignments as required

Position Summary

Machine aerospace components to required quality standards at expected production levels by following all required processes and instructions.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform machine set-ups, tool changes and machine offsets
• Collaborates with Programming, Quality and technical support to develop new processes and products
• Suggest and participate in the implementation of process improvements, setup reduction initiatives and scrap reduction activities
• Performs all required preventative maintenance activities
• Completes all quality related inspection requirements
• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure quality conformance and the proper movement and control of product
• Assist in the development and maintenance of work instructions and process sheets ensuring paperwork is organized, detailed and current
• Actively participates in LEAN projects and activities
• Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures
• Other assignments as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with limited information
• Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork
• Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed
• Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required
• Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing Work Instructions
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook
• Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
• Willingness to work 2nd shift
• Ability to carry/ lift up to 35 lbs. (50% of the time). Must have the ability to stand, kneel, squat, stoop, use fingers and hands to feel, lift or handle tools, parts and equipment.

Experience & Education

• Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience or equivalent combination of education or experience

• Preferred 5 years Machining experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Formal training and/or education in Machining
