Join to apply for the Machinist 2 (2nd Shift) role at TRIUMPH

Based in Windsor, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets, employing approximately 115 personnel. The company specializes in designing, developing, manufacturing, and supporting highly engineered mechanical actuation and components for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, as well as military systems.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual and CNC 3 and 4 axis milling machines with minimal supervision; experience with Bridgeport machines is beneficial.
  • Read and interpret set-up sheets, operation sheets, blueprints, programs, and drawings.
  • Meet production deadlines by adhering to manufacturing schedules and procedures.
  • Follow and instruct on machining set-ups and operating principles.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and suggest resolutions.
  • Use a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform standard shop calculations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measure and mark dimensions and reference points.
  • Use all standard measuring instruments, including Micro Hite.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and keep work areas clean.
  • Contribute positively to team efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC 3 and 4 axis milling machines; manual Bridgeport experience is desired.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of technical aspects.
  • Ability to follow instructions, concentrate, and work well in a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
