Job summary

Vishay Dale Electronics – Columbus, NE seeks a Machinist on 1st shift to operate and tend machine tool equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders, to produce tooling and parts from metals and plastics.

You will read blueprints, interpret specifications, and ensure tolerance accuracy, with potential CNC work and close collaboration with designers and engineers. Overtime is available.

Qualifications

  • Technical Degree/Certification or High School Diploma with previous machinist experience.
  • Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations.
  • Must be able to accurately interpret specifications work from blueprint and bill of materials.
  • Prior production experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receives work assignments from Lead in the form of blueprint, technical specification, working drawing or sketch to build critical tooling within the closest tolerances.
  • Builds special tooling and consumable parts within the tolerances specified equivalent to level of work experience.
  • May occasionally be called upon to perform production runs on CNC equipment, lathes, punch press, milling machines and related equipment.
  • Ensures that finished product is properly documented and prepared to be sent to the customer in a timely manner with all necessary documentation.
  • Works directly or indirectly with Designer or Project Engineer, as necessary.
  • Adjusts or repairs to equipment as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Location: Vishay Dale Electronics, Columbus, NE is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of resistors and e-beam technology. There are around 600 employees currently working in Columbus, NE. We are one of the largest employers in the Columbus Area.

Job Summary: Operates and tends all types of machine tool equipment such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, surface grinders etc. to produce tooling, fixtures, and consumable parts out of various metals to include steel and aluminum, as well as plastics and other non-metals.

What you will be doing:
