The Integrated Thermal Systems (ITS) Operating Unit is the world leader in two-phase thermal management of spacecraft and has more than 30 years of experience designing and manufacturing space-qualified products for various government, military, civil and commercial customers (Legacy Swales Aerospace).

ITS has the broadest portfolio of thermal solutions in the business and more flight heritage than any of our competitors. We tackle the industry’s most challenging spacecraft thermal control problems and have the market differentiating capability of taking systems from concept, through design, thermal component fabrication, integration into honeycomb composite structure and through system level testing all on-site with no subcontractors.

Job Role

This role is for a CNC Programmer to support our manufacturing floor. You will be responsible for reading and understanding DWGs/Models and creating programs for our CNC machines. You will work closely with engineers to provide crucial input on design for manufacturability. You will work together with Machinists on setups and editing programs.

This role can be filled as a level 1 or level 2 depending on experience.

Basic Qualifications

Level 1: High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.

Level 2: High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • Must be proficient programming with Mastercam 2D/3D
  • Must have experience setting up & operating CNC Mills, lathes, 4th/5th axis
  • Must be able to work off of blueprints/DWGs
  • Must have experience with different types of materials (metals/plastics)
  • Must have a good understanding of tooling
  • Experience with Macros is a plus
  • Experience with wire EDM is a plus
Salary Range: $42,000.00 - $70,000.00
Salary Range 2: $50,000.00 - $83,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
