Pay Range: $17.66/hr. to $27.17/hr., based on experience, education, qualifications, and skills.

Position Overview

The Machinist sets up and operates industrial machines such as CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and surface grinders to machine ceramic parts. The role involves running 1-3 machines simultaneously with a focus on setup and precision measurement.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Machine Technology certificate preferred
  • At least 1 year of advanced CNC 3-axis machining experience
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and blueprints
  • Proficient in measurement tools and inspection microscopes
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to mentor and lead others
  • Must pass background and drug screening
  • Eligible to work in an ITAR environment
Essential Duties
  1. Set up and monitor CNC machine operation, adjusting controls as needed
  2. Measure and mark parts, review work orders
  3. Secure fixtures and materials, maintain tight tolerances
  4. Calculate and set machining parameters, edit machine codes
  5. Document issues and communicate with team for continuous operation
  6. Inspect finished parts for conformance, perform First Article Inspections
  7. Train on CMM or optical comparator as needed
  8. Report machine failures or safety concerns immediately
  9. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  10. Perform preventative maintenance and recordkeeping
  11. Follow all safety protocols including PPE use
Physical and Environmental Conditions

Employees must handle physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and working near machinery with moderate noise levels. Accommodations can be provided for disabilities.

Work environment involves occasional exposure to moving parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
