Description

This role involves operating shop machinery, performing basic equipment maintenance, and adhering to safety standards. It is physically demanding and may require working out of town, at night, on weekends, or holidays with short notice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Handling tools such as tongs and wrenches.
  • Storing and caring for tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Following safety regulations and using PPE.
  • Maintaining shop equipment and supporting machinery.
  • Operating lathe and other machinery to machine parts within close tolerances.
  • Keeping detailed records of work performed.
  • Performing inspections and measurements.
  • Ensuring safety and cleanliness of the work area.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Assisting with pump repairs and equipment movement.
  • Operating vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Reporting injuries and performing housekeeping duties.
Qualifications

Minimum education or experience includes a high school diploma or GED, with 3 years of manual machining experience. A valid Texas driver’s license is required; a Class A CDL is preferred. Skills in reading technical documents, basic math, and operating analytical equipment are necessary. Physical demands include standing, lifting, and working in loud, potentially hazardous environments.
