Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton in Wharton, New Jersey is seeking a Machinist to manufacture components using CNC mills, lathes, and manual equipment. You will set up, fabricate, and inspect parts to tight tolerances, reviewing drawings and GD&T to ensure quality.

Responsibilities may include leading tasks and mentoring teammates while applying established procedures and safety standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a full-time onsite role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CNC and manual machinery operations.

Machinist

The Opportunity: Perform the activities of a skilled trade Machinist to manufacture various products per established facility processes, including set-up, fabrication, and inspection utilizing the operations of CNC mills, lathes, and other equipment. Contribute new knowledge to programs and projects. Apply knowledge of policies, procedures, and practical application of the general and specific technical aspects of the job to complete varied and complex work. Make recommendations for new procedures. Work independently within established procedures and practices. May lead tasks and informally mentor others.

You Have

• Knowledge of CNC and manual machinery operations
• Ability to review engineering drawings for completeness and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Ability to inspect and verify all products by using standard inspection equipment and techniques
• Ability to set up and operate manual machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, saws, and power tools
• Ability to pay strict attention to detail in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have

• Experience with inspection techniques and identification of non-conformance features
• Experience with the use of CAM software and the application to CNC machines
• Experience with 5S and other Lean Manufacturing Concepts

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The projected compensation range for this position is $53,000.00 to $108,000.00 (annualized USD).
