Booz Allen is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware and cybersecurity engineers to evaluate secure DoD systems. The role focuses on testing hardware and firmware interactions, secure boot and firmware integrity, and virtualization boundary protections, using Whitebox adversarial testing and RMF alignment.
The position offers exposure to test environments, automation scripting, and architecture analysis while contributing to technical reports.
The Opportunity: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware and cybersecurity engineers to evaluate secure systems for Department of Defense (DoD) clients using a structured Whitebox adversarial testing methodology. Support testing of systems assessed against NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Raise the Bar (RTB) security control requirements, with focus areas including low-level hardware and firmware interactions, Mandatory Access Controls (MAC) and Discretionary Access Controls (DAC), data flow enforcement and filtering mechanisms, secure boot and firmware integrity validation, and virtualization and hypervisor boundary protections. Assist with executing approved test cases, documenting findings, and contributing to technical reports. Gain hands-on exposure to hardware test environments, automation scripting, and secure architecture analysis while building foundational knowledge from experienced engineers.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
