Job summary

Offshore CNC LLC is seeking a CNC Machinist to produce quality parts on lathes and milling machines. You will set up, run production, inspect first articles, and adjust processes to ensure accuracy.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting tolerances, and working with precision measuring tools. A safety-focused mindset and willingness to work overtime are essential.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality parts on CNC machines (lathes and mills) efficiently and safely.
• Set up changes and perform first article inspections for production runs.
• Load parts using overhead lifting equipment.
• Edit NC programs and perform simple edits; inspect finished components for conformance.
• Identify potential issues before production and adjust machine operations accordingly.
• Read blueprints and determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
• Maintain tooling knowledge, including fixtures and cutting parameters.
• Prove out new programs and perform edits to NC programs on CNC machines.
• Keep work area clean and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Comply with company and HSE policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for producing quality parts on CNC machines, including but not limited to lathes and milling machines, in a timely, safe, and efficient manner
• Operate CNC machines, perform setup changes, and conduct first article inspections for production runs
• Load parts using overhead lifting equipment
• Prove programs, operate controls, set offsets, perform simple program edits, deburr parts, and inspect finished components to ensure conformance to requirements
• Identify potential issues prior to production runs; start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and precision measuring instruments to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements
• Maintain working knowledge of tooling instructions, including fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and appropriate cutting tools
• Prove out new programs and perform simple edits to NC programs on one or more CNC machines
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned

• Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used across multiple machines
• Advanced ability to read drawings and specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Advanced knowledge of precision measuring instruments, including but not limited to calipers, ID/OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and tape measures
• Advanced understanding of programmed segments and corresponding machine operations

• Education certification NOT Required, but MUST possess the following:
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify potential issues, and take appropriate corrective action
  • Demonstrates practical, hands-on problem-solving ability in a manufacturing environment

  • Safety-focused (very effective for CNC roles)
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and situational awareness while operating machinery
