Job Description

Machinist – Streetsboro Corporate Office. Shift: Morning (Monday‑Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM). Pay Rate: $28.00. The Manual Machinist operates manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to create precision parts. The role requires high attention to detail and the ability to work with technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. The Machinist works independently or as part of a team to meet production goals while ensuring quality and safety standards are adhered to at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to produce high‑quality parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, sequence of operations, and machine setup.
  • Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters for each job.
  • Inspect and measure parts with micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including time tracking and any deviations or issues during production.
  • Perform regular machine maintenance: cleaning and lubricating machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, identify defects, and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all company health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to ensure product specifications are met and resolve any production‑related issues.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust machining processes for efficiency and quality improvements.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in operating manual machining equipment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques, materials, and tooling.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent hand‑eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills for record‑keeping and job tracking.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Dexterity and manual skill to operate machinery and handle tools.
  • Must be able to work in a noisy, industrial environment.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors for wiring and part identification.
Working Conditions
  • Full‑time, with potential overtime as needed.
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
