Job summary

CACI is seeking a Machinist to operate CNC and manual mills/lathe machines, fabricate components, and finish parts with precision. Machinist

Engineering and Technical Support – Full Time – Regular – Up to 10% local travel.

Responsibilities
  • Machine components using CNC and manual mills and lathes.
  • Program, set up, and operate 3- or 4‑axis CNC machines.
  • Hand‑finish parts as required, using contouring and polishing.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, make recommendations and share best practices with machining approaches and materials as a subject‑matter expert (SME) on machining.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings (CAD/CAM) and tolerancing schemes, including GD&T.
  • Order materials for projects as needed.
  • Maintain machine shop equipment for function and cleanliness.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience with setting up, programming, editing and operating CNC milling and lathe machines (5 years with a bachelor’s degree).
  • Experience with machining metals (aluminum, stainless steel) and other materials.
  • Experience with design process and mechanical assembly.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
  • U.S. Citizen and must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Basic MS Windows skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with machine maintenance.
  • Experience with waterjet and laser cutting.
Physical Demands

Ability to lift 50 lbs when required; the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range

$61,600–$129,300 (national average).
