Job summary

Sargent's Equipment & Repair Service is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Midwest team. You will read and interpret blueprints, set up lathes and milling machines, and produce precise parts for shop and field use.

Candidate should have a High School Diploma and machinist experience, strong math and analytical skills, and the ability to work safely with various manufacturing tools. Driving record and reliability are important.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledgeable experience in the Machinist field.
• Good math skills with analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications.
• Set up and operate engine lathe.
• Create setups on engine lathe and machine components.
• Use Bridgeport and horizontal milling machines to finish parts.
• Welding experience (stick, MIG, TIG) is a plus.
• Perform field porting line boring and mechanical repairs.
• Maintain measurement accuracy and quality, lifting heavy items as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work in shop and out in the field.
• Ability to read Blueprints/Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications or output
• Create your own set up on Engine Lathe
• Ability to use Bridgeport /Horizontal Milling Machines
• Welding experience is a plus, Stick, Mig, and Tig.
• Field Porting Line Boring
• Ability to make Mechanical repairs
• Possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail
• Ability to lift heavy items along with Bending, climbing, stretching
• Ability to use carbon arc gouging, acetylene torch, grinders and most other general manufacturing tools safely
• Must have and obtain a good driving record (MVR)
• Great communication skills with employees and clients
• Well organized with work area and surroundings
• Must have own tools up to 2 inch
