Job Description

Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading building envelope solution supplier that effectively drives energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a Machinist in our East Providence Plant.

Shift: 6am-3:30pm, Monday - Friday, OT as required

Pay: $24.52

This position is assigned to the Machine Shop and Die room, reporting to the operations supervisor. It involves producing components for our production and specialty application equipment, maintaining tooling for progressive dies, and assisting in the die room as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Fabricate and machine metallic and nonmetallic parts, assemble machined parts, and operate conventional, special purpose, CNC machines, and machining centers.
  2. Review drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
  3. Adjust machine programs, speeds, and feeds to maintain proper machining processes.
  4. Perform first-piece inspection to ensure quality.
  5. Work in the die room, sharpening die components to specifications.
  6. Record inspection data to meet ISO requirements.
  7. Occasionally use a forklift to move materials or equipment.
  8. Maintain safe work practices and housekeeping.
  9. Complete special assignments and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  1. 3 to 5 years of machining experience, with progressive die experience preferred.
  2. Ability to set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, CNC machines, and other equipment.
  3. Calculate and set controls for machining parameters.
  4. Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and adjust controls accordingly.
  5. Verify finished work with precision measuring instruments.
  6. Setup and operate machines for trial runs.
  7. May install machined parts and test equipment functionality.
  8. Possibility to operate welding equipment.
  9. Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve machining issues.
  10. Interpret engineered drawings and perform basic math.
  11. Good communication skills and ability to use hand and power tools.
  12. Stand for long periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  13. Own a set of machinist tools.
Preferred Experience
  1. Manual and CNC machining experience.
  2. Progressive die maintenance experience.
  3. CNC programming experience.
