Job summary

Luminator Technology Group, headquartered in Plano, TX, is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate lathes and mills, interpret blueprints, and program advanced equipment to produce precision components. You’ll contribute to quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years CNC lathe/mill experience, solid measurement skills, and proficiency with G-code/M-code and CAD/CAM software.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience on a CNC lathe/mill
  • High school diploma/GED required; technical school degree or certificate preferred
  • Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, M-code)
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, or Autodesk Fusion)

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Maintain acceptable reject and production rates.
  • Verify part compliance using calipers and micrometers.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine required materials and dimensions.
  • Select and set up appropriate machines (e.g., lathes), position and load materials, and handle fixtures, jaws, chucks, spindles, collets, pads, and bar feeder inputs.
  • Plan the sequence of steps for assignments, including programming input or corrections.
  • Determine and program batch sizes and machine speeds.

What You’ll Do

Experience:

Minimum 2 years’ experience on a CNC lathe/mill

  • Ability to operate CNC machine digital interfaces, set parameters, and input production data.
  • Basic computer literacy for file management, data entry, and use of standard office software (e.g., Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to use digital measurement tools and quality control software.
