Job summary

UNI-TEK Precision Inc in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team as a CNC mill setup/operator for 3, 4, and 5 axis mills.

You will read blueprints, interpret CAD data, set up machines, change tools and offsets, and use calipers and micrometers to verify tolerances while coordinating with engineering on CAM programming and tooling.

Qualifications

  • Experience as CNC mill setup/operator in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Proficient with Fanuc controls and reading blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read CAD/CAM data.
  • Math skills for measurements and tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to understand machining requirements.
  • Set up and adjust CNC machines for optimal performance, including tool changes and offsets.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout the production process to maintain standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on CAM programming and tooling setups.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Setup/Operator for CNC 3, 4 ,5 axis Mills to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and be proficient in operating CNC milling machines. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints accurately. The CNC Mill Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring precision and quality in our production processes.

  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Experience with various machining tools such as Makino, Mori-Seiki, Haas,
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLC) is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues effectively.Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
