Job summary

Force America/LDI Industries is seeking a Machinist to operate CNC Horizontal machining centers on the 2nd shift in Minnesota. You will load/unload fixtures, adjust tools, and follow standard processes while recording data. Safety and quality are essential in this role.

The position requires 1–3 years of CNC experience, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with inspection tools; technical training and NIMS certification are a plus.

Qualifications

Job Description

Overview: The Machinist is responsible for running multiple CNC machines efficiently. In order to ensure proper function, machinist review equipment regularly to report any equipment malfunctions, tooling issues, conduct general maintenance tasks while following all safety precautions. This position is 2nd shift.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Setup and operate CNC Horizontal machining centers.

• Load and unload work fixtures, devices, tools and programs.

• Adjusting cutting tools, as required.

• Follow standard work processes and record data.

• Operate and interpret a variety of inspection tools.

• Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training or vocational coursework in machining, manufacturing, or CNC operation preferred.
• Certification in CNC machining or related field (e.g., NIMS – National Institute for Metalworking Skills) is a plus.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience operating CNC machines, preferably horizontal machining centers.
• Experience with setup, tooling adjustments, and interpreting CNC programs.
• Familiarity with inspecting parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Basic math and mechanical reasoning skills.
• Knowledge of machine maintenance practices and troubleshooting common issues.
• Computer literacy for CNC program loading and data entry.

• The majority of the time will be inside conditions with protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Some work is achieved near open bays with no control over weather conditions.
