Job summary

KSB is seeking a Machinist at our Port Allen, LA facility to operate multiple machine tools, read blueprints, and inspect finished parts. The role requires accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols in a high-volume shop environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of manufacturing experience, strong math skills, and the ability to train junior machinists. Overtime may be required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to read machinist scales and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and measuring tools.
• Set up, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials on machines.
• Operate various machine tools to perform progressive machining operations.
• Inspect completed units and document repairs; ensure conformance to specifications.

This is why we are committed to equal rights and treatment worldwide and never lose sight of the aspects ecology and sustainability when manufacturing our products.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments.* Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.* Operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.* Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.* Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as necessary.* Quality assurance. Inspect machinery for needed repairs, documents repairs, make minor repairs.* Maintain a log of time spent on jobs.* Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work area and shop.* Read and use machinist scales and indicators.* Follow and adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Wear appropriate PPE.* Follow and adhere to all quality protocols.* Has the knowledge and ability to run multiple machines in the shop independently without any assistance or training.* Ability to effectively train other Machinist Apprentice or Machinist II employees on various machines.* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.* Ability to work overtime as needed.
