Major Tool & Machine (MTM) in Indianapolis, IN is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for second and third shifts. You will perform setup and run operations, read blueprints, interpret GD&T, and apply shop math to ensure parts meet tolerances.

Ability to improvise setups and monitor speeds and feeds is required. Candidates should have 2+ years of trade education or apprenticeship and 3–5 years of CNC experience, with Siemens 840D controls preferred.

Qualifications

  • Two years of trade school, vocational education, or apprenticeship.
  • Three to five years of CNC machining experience.
  • General machining knowledge including shop math, blueprint reading and GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
  • Properly select, align and secure work holding; improvise setups using tooling like risers or angle plates.
  • Monitor and adjust speed, feed, depth or angle of cut; observe machine operation for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Verify machined details meet prints using precision measuring instruments; ensure first piece inspection for multi-piece runs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machine and work area daily.
