Job summary

Cincinnati Incorporated in Ohio is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate Komo vertical mills, drill, tap, slot and bore bars to perform reaming, milling, drilling and tapping.

You will read blueprints with GD&T, edit programs, select and align tools, monitor operations, and maintain safe, clean work areas while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or certificate of equivalency.
  • 2 years prior machining center experience.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and reading prints.

Responsibilities

  • Receive work assignment; secure drawings, set-up sketch, programs, and tool list.
  • Use crane and lifting devices to place workpiece on machine table, rotary table, auxiliary table, floor plate and/or set-up fixtures making close measurements at multiple locations to level and align.
  • Install program and appropriate tools. After engaging power, adjust coolant and observe entire operation, checking dimensions and adjusting as needed.
  • Report program errors or malfunctions, edit programs as needed
  • Set and utilize instruments to check tool settings for proper cutting dimensions, adjust settings as necessary.
  • Continually check fixtures and holding devices for setups to assure proper working conditions. Store tools and maintain necessary tool records.
  • Perform simple layout work when required, using templates or by calculations, measuring and marking surfaces for machining
  • Perform very close machining operations such as drilling, boring, reaming, facing, milling, on parts such as shear housing, tables, rams, hold-down beams, beds, brake housings, rams, beds, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established quality procedures

Position Summary and Purpose: Set up and operate Komo vertical mills, as well as drill, tap, slot and bore bars to perform such machining operations as reaming, milling, drilling and boring and tapping. Select, set, calibrate and secure tools in tool holders to perform metal cutting operations.

Physical Demands And Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms and climbing ladders. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. The employee must regularly lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
