Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Greenwood, IN is seeking a skilled Machinist to operate manual lathes and light vertical milling.

This long-term opportunity involves disassembly, inspection, repair, measurement, and assembly to meet exact specifications, with blueprint reading and use of precision tools. Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, possible overtime; benefits include health, dental, vision, holidays, vacation, sick time, and 401K.

Qualifications

• Experience using a variety of precision measuring tools.
• Working knowledge of both metric and English measurement systems.
• Operate a variety of manual machines—mills, lathes, etc.
• Understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and demonstrate good mechanical aptitude.
• Experience operating forklift trucks, hand pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
• Must be able to lift and carry 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes and light vertical milling.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, measure and assemble products and subassemblies to specifications.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform adjustments to correct functions.
• Plan, set up, and execute assignments using machines from drills to milling equipment.

• Greenwood company looking for a skilled Machinist!

• The Manual Machinist will be operating manual lathes and light vertical milling
• Performs a variety of duties to disassemble, inspect, repair, measure and assemble products and subassemblies to bring them up to specification standards
• Diagnoses, checks, and corrects mechanical functions through adjustments
• Plans, sets up and executes assignments using machine tools ranging from drills, lathes to milling machines

Schedule: Mon - Fri 7AM - 3:30 PM (Possible overtime as needed.)

Open to candidates with experience in fabrication environments, including operation of CNC mills and lathes, as well as the use of precision measuring tools.
