Job summary

GASBARRE seeks a machinist to operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precision metal parts. You will review blueprints, set speeds and feeds, select tools, cut and shape materials, and verify tolerances against specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years of machinist experience, strong math and measurement skills (micrometers, calipers), and good written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Must have strong math and blueprint reading skills.
• Able to take precise measurements with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators.
• Experience operating machine tools and adapting layouts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years machinist experience preferred.
• Physical requirement: lift up to 25 pounds; long periods standing.

• Replace dull cutting tools.
• Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
• Determine cutting path, monitor the accuracy of cuts.
• Use manual and computer-controlled machinery.
• Modify programs in order to meet necessary tolerances.
