Moog is hiring an experienced Machinist for an onsite role in Blacksburg, VA. The position requires operating lathe and mill machines, setting up tools, and ensuring parts meet blueprints.

You’ll work on various tools and equipment, perform quality checks, and complete documentation with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of related machining experience, proficiency with manual and CNC machines, and knowledge of GD&T.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred with at least 6 years of related machining experience.
• Proficient with manual and/or CNC machines—capable of setting up machines with a general knowledge of speeds and feeds for lathes and mills.
• Proficient in geometric dimensions and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathe and mill, and understand different styles of taps and dies (metric and standard).
• Operate various hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, belt sanders, disc sanders, sand and bead blasters.
• Operate power band saw, cut off saw, and manage speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Verify work against blueprints and work instructions; complete paperwork accurately.
