Position Summary:
The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications and quality standards. Your role will be crucial in ensuring efficient production and contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.
Primary Functions:
- Set up and operate manual milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance including tool changes, lubrication, and cleaning to ensure optimal machine performance and longevity.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, precision, and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues making adjustments as necessary to maintain production efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Adhere to safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Document production and quality data, including part dimensions, tool usage, and machine performance, for reporting and quality assurance purposes.
- Experience with castings.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Occasionally operate a CNC machine depending on work load. Willing to learn CNC a plus.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification in machining preferred.
- 0-3 year's experience in operating Mills, Lathes, including setup, tooling. ( preferred)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T), and machining specifications.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments for part inspection and quality control.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced production environment, follow instructions, and contribute to a collaborative team.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
- Safely navigating a manufacturing environment
- Extended periods of sitting; occasional standing and walking
- Using computer and office equipment.
Pay: $24-27/hr
