Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Machinist for a full-time role in Maryland. The candidate will operate and set up machine tools to manufacture precision metal components, interpreting blueprints and drawings, and ensuring products meet strict quality standards.

Responsibilities include setting up lathes, mills, and CNC equipment; reading schematics; tooling alignment; monitoring processes; and inspecting parts for tolerances. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of machinist experience.
• Experience operating both manual and CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and measurement techniques.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
