Job summary

JTEKT North America Corporation in Piedmont, SC, seeks an experienced Manufacturing/Process Engineer to own CNC turning and grinding processes for CVJ machining lines. You will troubleshoot downtime, design tooling, develop SOPs, and support PFMEA/APQP activities to improve quality and reduce costs.

The role requires 3+ years in automotive machining, a Bachelor’s in engineering, and proficiency with SolidWorks/AutoCAD. Overtime and weekend support may be needed on occasion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
• 3+ years in machining or process engineering in automotive/high-volume manufacturing.
• Design of fixtures/tooling for high-volume equipment and automated troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Own machining process performance for CNC turning and grinding lines.
• Lead root-cause analysis for downtime, scrap, and quality issues.
• Develop and test tooling, fixtures, and gauging to support robust processes.
• Build and maintain SOPs for standardized machining processes.
• Support PFMEA and APQP/PPAP for process changes.
• Assist commissioning of new or rebuilt machining equipment.
• Analyze process data to drive quality improvement and cost reduction.
• Mentor technicians on machining processes and troubleshooting on the floor.
