Job summary

A manufacturing company in Manchester is looking for an experienced CNC Machining Process Engineer. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing manufacturing processes for machining.
  • 3+ years of experience in a defense/aerospace-related job shop environment.
  • Subject matter expert in GD&T.
  • Experience interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
  • BS in Mechanical, Quality, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains standard work for the machine shop.
  • Analyzes process performance and reduces waste.
  • Troubleshoots non-conformances and implements corrective actions.
  • Measures and improves first pass yield.
  • Acts as a liaison between Engineering, Programming and Operations.

Subject matter expert in GD&T

Proficiency in MS Office Products
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Proficiency in Mastercam
Excellent human interaction skills
Ability to obtain security clearance

Education

BS in Mechanical, Quality, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering discipline
5+ years of equivalent on-the-job training and experience

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for thedesign, implementation, and optimization of the CNC machining process to drive machine efficiency, reduce downtime and maintain safety. Responsibilities include analyzing process performance, reducing waste, developing technical documentation, reduction of non-conformance, collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting issues and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops and maintains standard work for the machine shop.
  • Develops and maintains standard work programming.
  • Develops and maintains Continuous Improvement metrics.
  • Troubleshoots non-conformances and implements Root Cause and Corrective Action.
  • Design and Development of fixturing.
  • Measure and improve first pass yield.
  • Maintain department quality objects.
  • Provide technical support for the machinist.
  • Diagnoses of CNC program and tooling issues.
  • Perform time studies to drive estimated run time improvement.
  • Analyzation of machine performance.
  • Liaison between Engineering, Programming and Operations.
  • Cycle time reduction.
  • Serve as the company subject matter expert concerning new machining technologies and equipment to reduce costs through efficiency.
  • Support legacy and new product introduction (NPI) projects working with a team of Program Managers, Project Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Weld Engineers to meet shipment goals.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors.
  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with both managers/directors and staff, collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals.
  • Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and strictly observes all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.
