Alicat Scientific, Inc. is seeking a dependable Machine Shop Operator for the second shift in Tucson, AZ. Play a hands-on role with machined parts, assist in setup and operation of lathes, mills, saws, and robot-fed vertical mills. This position offers growth from within and a clear path to CNC and other technical roles.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and meticulous attention to quality. Training is provided and a full 40-hour week with potential overtime is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently and stand for extended periods.
• Basic math and computer skills; Excel experience a plus.
• Must be detail-oriented, accountable, and self-motivated.
• Machine shop experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and prepare raw materials per job specifications.
• Assist CNC machinists in machine setup and operation.
• Deburr and sand machined parts using finishing tools.
• Track inventory and material usage in logs and spreadsheets.
• Perform routine maintenance on saws and workspace.
• Move materials safely using appropriate tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop area.
• Follow all company safety protocols and standard procedures.
