Job summary

Alicat Scientific in Tucson, AZ is hiring a CNC Lathe Operator for the on-site machine shop. Weekend or evening shifts are available with pay range $22.00-$24.00 per hour.

The role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes to machine precision parts per blueprints, loading materials, and performing routine maintenance. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, preferred technical training, 1–3+ years in manufacturing, and familiarity with G-code/M-code and CAD

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs.
• Basic understanding of G-code/M-code and tool offsets.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes, load programs, set tools, perform touch-offs.
• Operate machines to turn, boring, threading, and facing tasks.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
• Monitor output and adjust offsets, speeds, and feeds as needed.
• Perform daily machine maintenance and keep work area clean.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and wear PPE.
