Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems, at the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center (JSMC), seeks an entry-level Tool Engineer to support machining of components for tracked and wheeled military vehicles. You will interpret drawings, develop processes for operators, and design fixturing to improve production efficiency.

Required CADCAM and 3D modeling experience; MasterCam/Creo a plus. Candidates must be US Persons, eligible for facility access, and willing to travel or work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred; related technical degree considered with experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and 3D modeling; MasterCam & Creo are a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and 3D models for manufacturability.
• Develop processes and instructions for production operators.
• Concept and detail fixturing and tool aids for production.
• Understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic requirements related to machines and fixturing.
• Develop CNC programs for plate processing, 3-axis/5-axis mills.
• Procure tooling and equipment to support machining processes.
• Assist on cost estimating for future programs and tasks.
• Provide technical support and training to manufacturing operations at JSMC.
• Implement PSCA and drive continuous improvement.
• Interface with on-site customer (US Government)
• Participate in formal teaming processes.
