Job summary

Emerson in Marshalltown, IA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to perform essential machining support tasks. You will maintain coolant, remove chips, and operate forklifts while adhering to strict safety rules in a fast-paced shop environment.

You must be able to stand for long periods and work independently with minimal supervision. A High School diploma or GED is required and prior machine shop experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time; strength in arms and legs.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to safely operate stand-up forklifts and motorized ride-on pallet jacks

Responsibilities

• Conduct all job duties with Safety as a priority and in compliance with Safety Rules.
• Maintain machine coolant levels
• Remove chips/shavings from machines
• Empty chip tubs using a forklift
• Change machine coolant when directed
• Recycle used coolant using Emerson equipment
• Align with all safety and work instructions.
• Maintain clear communication within department.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping rules, standards, and clean/restock as the need arises.
