Qualified Staffing is seeking a Shift Supervisor (Machining) for a direct hire in Macomb, MI. The role oversees CNC operators, schedules work, and leads training to meet customer specs while maintaining safe, clean shop conditions.

You will troubleshoot tooling, edit CNC programs, and support PLC work as needed. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to drive productivity and quality on the floor.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC manufacturing experience with lead responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule operators and coordinate training.
• Develop and implement work instructions to improve training.
• Maintain throughput at standard rates and ensure quality per specifications.
• Maintain shop floor safety and housekeeping.
• Troubleshoot tooling and processes to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
• Perform production setups, changeovers, and maintenance tasks.
• Edit or write CNC programs; assist with PLC implementation as needed.
• Ensure compliance with policies and environmental requirements.
• Provide feedback and disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Interact with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
• Support bid evaluation and performance reviews.

SHIFT SUPERVISOR (Machining)

Direct Hire

Macomb, MI

Hours: 5:45am – 4:30pm, M-F, Saturdays & Sundays as scheduled

$30-35/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for scheduling operators job placements and coordinating training.
• Participate in the development and implementation of work instructions to improve training.
• Through put (running to standard rates) & Quality (compliance with all customer specifications)
• Maintain safety and housekeeping of shop floor
• Analyze, investigate and provide guidance on troubleshooting tooling and process concerns to reduce downtime and drive continuous improvement.
• Perform production set-ups, changeovers and repair maintenance activities.
• Edit CNC programs and/or write programs.
• If capable or directed, troubleshoot electrical problems, wire equipment, do PLC implementation and program management
• Ensure compliance by all employees with policies and procedures
• Responsible to provide employee positive feedback and disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Interaction with customers, suppliers and vendors as needed.
• Responsible for complete evaluation criteria for job bids and performance evaluations
• Comply and participate in housekeeping, safety and environmental policies.
• Follow Housekeeping, Safety (lockout/tagout) & Environmental requirements (recycling, labeling, spills and programs)
• Continuous improvement ideas in safety, productivity, quality, housekeeping
• Other duties as defined by your supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience in CNC Manufacturing environment with lead responsibilities
• High School Diploma required, advanced certificate/degree preferred
• Leadership, mentoring and training
• Problem Solving and Decision-Making capabilities
• CNC & PLC programming, troubleshooting, part processing, blueprint reading, GD&T
