Job summary

JobScore, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist Lead for the second shift to drive safety, quality and production goals. You will program, set up and operate Mazak/Mazatrol CNC equipment, inspect parts and coach a small team to improve processes.

The role emphasizes teamwork, training and on-time turnover, with a focus on a clean, safe environment and meeting daily output targets on the shift.

Qualifications

• Five years CNC machining experience including programming, set ups and operation.
• Experience with Mazak Mazatrol is preferred.
• Ability to program, set up and operate CNC equipment and troubleshoot.

Responsibilities

• Programs, sets up and operates the CNC equipment in the area.
• Uses inspection equipment to validate tolerances.
• Monitors production, shift output, labor performance, scraps and housekeeping.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Assigns jobs and machines to team members and shifts.
• Leads shift turnover and handoff to achieve results.
• Trains and develops team members, shadowing and coaching.

Job description

Position Summary:

The CNC Machinist Lead will be responsible for achieving established safety, quality and operational goals while optimizing efficiency and effectiveness. Focuses on the key daily disciplines of technical assistance, set-up communication, positive attitude and teamwork.

*This is a SECOND SHIFT position*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Programs, sets up and operates the CNC equipment in their respective area.
• Uses inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, to validate tolerances.
• Monitors levels of production, shift output per machine, labor performance, scraps and rejects, and housekeeping.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Responsible for assigning jobs and machines to team members in their area and shifts.
• Performs positive and effective shift turnover and hand off to achieve expected results.
• Answers questions and leads team members on their designated shift and area of responsibility.
• Responsible for the training and development of team members in their department/shift including shadowing and coaching.
• Leads team members in the promotion and integration of new ideas and process improvements.

Education and Experience:

• Five years CNC machining experience including programming, set ups and operation (Mazak/Mazatrol preferred). Identify and resolve issues and opportunities in a timely manner with viable alternatives if necessary.
• Licensing/Certificates: CNC machine certification a plus.
