Job Title: Engineering Manager

Position Summary

The Machining Engineering Manager leads engineering initiatives within a diecasting manufacturing environment, ensuring efficiency, quality, and innovation.This role requires expertise in project planning, process design, and processcontrol, with a strong background in Japanese automotive manufacturingstandards. The ideal candidate must be willing to travel internationally for 1-2weeks as needed to collaborate with global teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design and development of Machining and Assembly projects.
  • Ability to develop annual and semi-annual action plans that correspond withthe company initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce defects andreduce carbon footprints.
  • Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturingissues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry, company standards, and safety regulations.
  • Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Train and mentor engineering staff on best practices in machining/assembly.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Submits proposals to management for consideration and allocation of funds fromthe department budget.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises members in the Production Engineering Department. Carries outsupervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies andapplicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and trainingmembers; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;rewarding and disciplining members; addressing complaints and resolvingproblems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university, or seven (7)to ten (10) years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., orequivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technicaljournals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to commoninquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of thebusiness community. Ability to effectively present information to topmanagement, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, and process optimization.
  • Leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in GD&T, CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with IATF and ISO Standards
Travel Requirements
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with suchfrequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
  • 1-2 weeks internationally
