Job summary

NGK Ceramics USA, Inc. maintains the material condition and operational capability of industrial production machines and support systems.

The Maintenance Technician also participates in plant wide and departmental improvement activities. Responsibilities include disassembly and repair with basic hand tools, routine inspection of mechanical/hydraulic systems, setup of drive and motion components, and testing with electrical meters to troubleshoot control circuits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year experience/training.
• Preferred AS/AA degree; 1–3 years of experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Uses basic hand tools to disassemble and repair machinery and restore operation.
• Performs routine cleaning, inspection and testing of mechanical/hydraulic systems.
• Installs or replaces mechanical drive and hydraulic motion components.
• Performs adjustments and alignments on motors and related parts.
• Sets up and operates metalworking machines to fabricate or repair parts.
• Uses electrical testing devices to measure circuits and components.
• Analyzes industrial machine control circuits and performs repairs at component level.
• Participates in root cause analysis and recommends countermeasures.
• Moves, resets, and reteaches servo systems with interface equipment.
• Participates in PM, MMOL, and 5S activities as needed.
• Follows EMS procedures including waste disposal.
