Job summary

Android Industries is seeking a skilled Machine Tool Electrician for our Auburn Hills facility. The role involves assembling and wiring machine tooling per electrical schematics, debugging systems, and coordinating with controls engineers to meet production goals.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar electrical role in automotive manufacturing, with an Associate’s degree preferred. Safety and teamwork are emphasized in this dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years working as a Machine Tool Electrician or similar field, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Preferred - Associate’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Technology or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical panels according to electrical schematics.
  • Assemble, wire, debug, and install machine tooling and equipment according to electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and assist with root cause analysis of issues.
  • Record and document test data; prepare sketches and graphical test results.
  • Maintain safe operations and a clean work area.

MACHINE TOOL ELECTRICIAN

JOB SUMMARY:

Assemble and wire machine tooling (and related prototypes) according to electrical schematics for use in Android assembly operations.Performtasks such as wire,panel build, trouble shoot, debug, and install new machine tooling and equipment.Work closely with controls engineers to communicate hardware requirements and engineering changes, and to debug systems.Duties are performed with oversightby Electrician IIand prioritization by the shop manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble electrical panels according to electrical schematics.
  • Assemble, wire, debug, and install machine toolingand equipmentaccording to electrical schematicsto include low voltage wiring and 110V to 480V wiring.
  • Troubleshoot hardwareandassistwith root cause analysis of issues related to the build oridentifiedin Android assembly operations.
  • Record and document test data; prepare sketches,schematicsand graphical test results.
  • Maintains safe operations and a clean work area by adhering to safety and housekeeping procedures/regulations.
  • May make continuous improvement suggestions andparticipatein initiatives to improve productivity and process efficiency.
  • May provide input for design reviews, proposals, specifications, work standards, and business processes.
  • Complete all necessary forms, build documents andreportswithina timelyfashion, as required by Android quality management system.
  • Interface with customers andvendorsas necessary.
  • Communicate with ShopManager astoprogress ofprojects.
  • Assistinmaintainingpredetermined inventory levels of components, supplies, materials, etc., in the build shop.
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of3years workingas a Machine Tool Electrician or similar field, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Preferred -Associate’s degree in Electricalor Electronic Technology or related field.

TRAVEL:

  • Some travel may be required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to fluently read electrical schematics.
  • Experience with common hand tools such as electricaltester, handdrill, anglegrinder,Metabo, chopsaw, horizontal bandsaw, drillpress,etc.
  • Skilledin assembly and repair ofmachine tooling and equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to technical detail
  • Ability to test and troubleshootelectrical circuits,componentsand equipment.
  • Competentinoperatingbasictest equipment such as digital multimeters,thermocouples,programmable power supplies, etc.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools.
  • Problem solving skills anddecision-makingability.
  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information and respond to questions from team members and customers.
  • Ability to multi-task, work underpressureand meet deadlines.
  • Basic skills in using Microsoft OfficeOutlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment and follow safety guidelines.
  • Ability tomaintaina neat and organized work area.
