Job summary

LTI is seeking a seasoned Machine Shop Milling Technician III to operate and optimize CNC milling equipment in a precision-focused environment in Hatfield, PA. The role requires G-code programming, reading blueprints, and the ability to create programs from scratch, with leadership to train junior operators.

You'll work Monday–Friday days, handle equipment maintenance, monitor schedules, and ensure calibration and quality standards across multiple machines, reporting to the Machine Shop

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years CNC milling experience.
• Experience with Haas VF-2 and Haas VF-3.
• Working knowledge of G-code programming.
• Ability to set up and operate the mill with no supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lb.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and create basic CNC programs; select tooling and monitor milling process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues; make real-time adjustments to prevent defects.
• Lead and train junior operators; enforce safety and quality standards.
• Operate multiple machines within a normal workday.
• Maintain and calibrate shop equipment; report out-of-calibration items.
• Document data accurately in company software and maintain traceability.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; adhere to QA program.

In this role, you’ll operate and optimize CNC milling equipment, troubleshoot complex challenges, and ensure the highest quality standards for our customers. This is a first shift role, Monday-Friday, at our location in Hatfield, PA.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to read blueprints, create basic programs, select appropriate tooling and monitor the milling process and adjust machine settings as necessary.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Diagnosing and resolving complex operational issues and makes proactive, real-time adjustments to compensate for variation and prevent defects.”
• Leadership and training: Provides guidance and training to junior operators, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and contributing to a positive work environment.
• Operates multiple machines during a normal workday.
• Maintenance and preventative measures: Ensures that the shop equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any work.
• Informs the supervisor whenever any equipment is found to be out of calibration or in need of repair.
• Follows all applicable and required specifications and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance to machining requirements.
• Maintains traceability of materials and parts during operations.
• Monitors scheduled completion dates and times to ensure that established schedules are met. The supervisor must be notified sufficiently in advance whenever the schedule for a job might not be met.
• Inputs required data into computer software accurately and on a timely basis.
• Assists with maintaining shop equipment. This includes cleaning the equipment, performing preventive maintenance as scheduled, and performing repair maintenance as required.
  • Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
  • Understands and complies with LTI’s QA Program at all times.
  • Seeks clarification when specifications or directions are unclear.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations at all times and utilizes personal protective equipment, as required.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the Machine Shop Supervisor or the Machine Shop Manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5-7 years’ of CNC milling experience.
• Experience with Haas VF-2, Haas VF-3, and various measuring devices (verniers, micrometers, etc.)
• Working knowledge of G-code programming.
• Ability to set-up and operate the mill with no supervision.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to process work with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adjust settings (speeds/feeds, tool heights/diameters, etc.) in CNC programs.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
