Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a production machinist to operate one or more machines from blueprints and route sheets. You will cut, shape, deburr, form, drill, ream and finish parts while ensuring quality through inspections and SPC adherence.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a machine shop, can read blueprints, and communicate effectively. A HS Diploma and teamwork are required for this hands-on role at Parker Aerospace facilities.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production machines from blueprints and route sheets.
  • Cut, shape, deburr, form, drill, ream and finish parts.
  • Align and fasten parts using fixtures per established methods.
  • Inspect parts for conformance using gauges and visual checks.
  • Perform SPC requirements and keep a clean, safe work area.

With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.

Essential Functions
  • Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts
  • Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed
  • Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surface
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts
  • Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gauges or other measuring instruments
  • Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean work area in orderly condition
  • Read analog / digital MICS / COMPAIRTORS / PROFILOMETER
  • Strong lathe background preferred
  • Perform other related responsibilities
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have manual machining experience
  • Minimum 1‑2 years general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics
  • Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
