Job summary

The Timken Company in Houston, TX is seeking a dedicated machinist to support the IMECH team in producing high‑quality radial and thrust bearings for oil and gas, mining, and energy markets.

You will read engineering drawings, interpret blueprints, set up and operate tooling, self‑inspect using precision measuring tools, and document any discrepancies to ensure conformance with specifications and ISO 9001 requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in reading engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Interest in precision manufacturing and quality.
• Awareness of safety rules and ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

What will you do? Your day to day success is determined by your ability to:

• Maintain a safe working environment and promote health and safety awareness.
• Ensure accuracy and efficiency before and throughout production.
• Produce a quality product by following written and verbal instructions.
• Interpret blueprint drawings for specifications.
• Document discrepancies in materials and/or process.
• Self‑inspect work produced through the use of various measuring tools to ensure conformity to specifications.
• Participate in continuous process improvement.
• Maintain all work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Communicate to management any quality issues and non‑conformances.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

With Quality in mind, you also bring the following:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience or training in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Good math, geometry, and mechanical aptitude.
• Precision and strong attention to detail.
• Must understand and comply with all safety rules, ISO 9001, and company policies.
• Passion in delivering accuracy and quality as a priority
