Role Description

The Machine Shop Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in a busy machine shop environment. This role includes planning and scheduling production, assigning work to machinists, and monitoring progress to meet quality, safety, and delivery targets. The supervisor will guide the use of milling and machining equipment, ensure adherence to technical drawings and specifications, and coordinate maintenance needs to minimize downtime. Daily tasks involve enforcing safety protocols, conducting quality checks, resolving production issues, training team members, and collaborating with management and other departments to optimize workflow and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, workload delegation, and performance monitoring.
• Experience with Production Planning, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
• Hands-on proficiency in Milling and Machining, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and machining instructions.
• Purchasing and Inventory management
• Strong Quality Control skills, including inspection of parts, use of measurement tools, and adherence to specifications.
• Knowledge of shop safety standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment in a supervisory or lead role.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing is preferred.
