Job summary

Engtal, a leading manufacturing firm in Cypress, TX, seeks a senior CNC machinist to own and optimize the machining operation. You will set up, program, and edit CNC programs, troubleshoot tooling, and drive shop priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of CNC experience, proven leadership of a machine shop, and the ability to mentor junior machinists. Oil & gas or downhole exposure is a plus but not required; independent, hands-on ownership is essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines
• Program and make CNC edits as needed
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
• Manage shop workflow, priorities, and production schedules
• Train and mentor junior machinists
• Assist with tooling, fixtures, and process improvements
• Maintain quality and production standards
• Serve as the technical go-to for machining operations

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
• Senior CNC Machinist, Lead Machinist, CNC Lead, Shop Lead, or Shop Supervisor background
• Strong setup, programming, and troubleshooting experience
• Experience leading a machine shop or machining function strongly preferred
• Ability to independently manage shop-floor priorities
• High-mix/low-volume or job-shop experience is a plus
• Oil & gas/downhole experience is preferred but not required

The ideal candidate is a senior, hands-on machinist who can independently own the machining operation — not a CNC operator who primarily loads and runs machines or a Manufacturing Engineer.
