Job summary

ASC Engineered Solutions, LLC is seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor in Columbia, PA to lead the foundry finishing area. The role emphasizes safety, production, and continuous improvement through Kaizen while coordinating with planning and HR to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Qualifications

• Experience with union environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise union production personnel to meet safety, production, quality and schedule targets.
• Prepare and monitor daily and weekly shift work plans with production planning.
• Ensure staffing and training plans for all key operational areas within the shift.
• Participate in ISO-9001:2015 quality and safety reviews and audits.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to align with the Union contract and maximize productivity while minimizing disruptions.

Machine Shop Supervisor

The Production Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. We are looking for someone with exceptional management skills, a strong focus on safety, and a passion for driving operational excellence through continuous improvement methodologies like Kaizen.

How You Will Help

• Responsible for the safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the Foundry finishing area during his/her shift through direct supervision of union production personnel.
• Prepare and monitor daily and weekly shift work plan including staffing in conjunction with production planning. Ensure we are meeting production targets for assigned area; immediately appraise the Machine Shop Manager of any significant quality or productivity problems to assure immediate corrective action. Achieve maximum production and “up-time” consistent with trained manpower and equipment availability.
• Ensure proper staffing and training plans are in place for all key operational areas of his/her area;
• Participate in quality and safety reviews and audits to maintain and improve the ISO-9001:2015 implementation of work procedures and policies. Advise Manager of challenges, problems, improvements, ideas and opportunities.
• Works with Human Resources, under the direction of the Machine Shop Manager, to understand and effectively relate to the Union contract so as to maximize productivity and minimize disruptions to production while fulfilling all Company commitments contained in the Union contract in a fair and professional manner

What You Will Bring

• High School Diploma required. BS in a technical discipline preferred. Professional certifications would be beneficial.
• Minimum of 2+ years of heavy industrial production experience in a high-volume setting. Experience with a union preferred.
• Must have strong work ethic and must have excellent team-building skills with subordinates as well as with peers. Professional PC literacy skills in MS Word and Excel are required.
