Blue Origin LLC is seeking a manufacturing leader to own day-to-day machine shop operations and lead a team responsible for high-value aerospace components. You will manage schedules, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver first article success with on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes leadership, adherence to quality, and strong collaboration with manufacturing and design teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 4 years minimum of leadership experience.
  • 7 years minimum experience in machining aerospace components.
  • Root cause and corrective action analysis experience.
  • Familiarity with KPI metrics.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.

Responsibilities

  • Own machine shop personnel and day-to-day operations.
  • Conduct performance reviews and assign work stations.
  • Maintain machine shop schedule and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Provide first-level HR escalation support and training for team members.
  • Maintain 5S, Lean, and safety programs across the shop.
  • Support design for manufacturing and provide job planning estimates.
  • Ensure start-up readiness for production.

This position will directly influence the history of space exploration and will require your unwavering commitment and unfaltering focus towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.Shift: A, B, C and DRelocation: AvailableResponsibilities:Ownership of machine shop personnel and day-to-day operationsConduct performance reviewsResponsible for establishing work station assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employeesMaintain and communicate machine shop schedule status to ensure meeting customer expectationsProvide first level escalation support to employees regarding HR issues (employee relations, worker’s compensation, disciplinary actions, time cards, PTO requests)Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and implementing change to improve process, reduce cycle and setup timesMaintain shop measuring equipment calibration program ensuring all relative equipment is calibrated according to scheduleMaintain all shop programs.
